I cant seem to warm up

Geez, I just cant warm up today. I took my temp and I am a cool 91 degrees. Probly has something to do with my high cholesterol. Along those lines, Boettcher told me today that he is indeed riding base miles. Now, for those of you unfamiliar with the situation, I havent heard those words since like 1998 when he decided to rip the pro tt at Enumclaw for 3rd or 4th. Of course he didnt ride for the next two years but thats not what we are talking about. It just means a summer full of pain for me when I ride with him cause he will be shooting for the overall in the madison this year at the track and probly end up in the top five at the end of the season. Good for him but bad for my legs.

Ya wanna know what chaps my ass?

Ill tell you. The ASO. They suck. And Ill tell you why. They are in charge of all my favorite races. Not the grand tours but most of the classics. I only pay attention to the Tour, the Giro just passes time between the spring classics and then, and by the time the Vuelta rolls around, Im ready for the world championships. Im just being honest. This is my hope. The Protour teams grow some balls and back up the UCI on this one. I hope they skip Paris-Nice, Tirreno, and the big classics. I hope they boycott the tour, giro, and vuelta. Its the bike racers that everyone wants to see, not some limp dick 60 year old frenchman who wants to be known as the one who puts on the race. And its him and his ego that is making this happen. The UCI is the governing body and has been for quite a while, let them montior the rules and let the bike racers race the races.

hour of power part 2

I seem to be getting lots of concerning comments on my futile attempt to go out and slam the pavement for a good hour workout. We should take into account the territory I was on which was the burke gilman trail, a little utilized trail system here in seattle that allows one to ride their bicycle without dealing with traffic and getting to ride right along lake washington. The terrain is varied and on a bad day can expose the best of riders. So I had a bad day. And big deal, I drive 112 miles in my sleep. 13 miles on roller skis? I'd rather sit down to a pbr and a quesadilla.

Good job Mike on getting your gear onto the biggest stage in the US this year. They may be at the back but gosh darnit, they are there!

Blanton's and the roadhouse

On a cold night after a hard ride, sometimes it's hard to beat. Of course its mardi gras time so the music is fun. Trying to climb out of the doldrums and I think Im about out. Im not skiing tonight but will probly have some fish and chips. Or maybe a fish taco. Ahh, that sounds more like it. Start the new jobby job in a couple of weeks and I believe I am nervous. I would like to ride me bike to work but that would involve shedding some liking of sleeping as much as I do and thats hard. Went on a weekend getaway to the sooke harbour house on vancouver island with Jackie last weekend and holy crap it was nice. Alot of travel time but it was fantastic. Great food, great relaxing, I wore a robe for the first time in my life, and the bike riding was good and hard. The road around the island is quite hilly in the car but boy howdy, get on a bike and do it! I cant wait get on it again. Im out for the chilly hilly this weekend and although many think its a joke, I enjoy it. Of course, I get a great sunday breakfast at Daniel Roberts with all you can drink espresso, french toast, eggs, jams, and butters. Not this year. I have to work. Oh well, I got the chilly hilly game on the xbox that I'll play that night.
